Merry Christmas!

We had a surprise visitor at our house this evening. He was just checking in to make sure everyone is behaving themselves before Christmas arrives. (So far Taylor and the babies are still on the “Good” list!) Everyone enjoyed meeting Santa and we got some great pictures too!

We hope all of you are enjoying the holiday season and staying warm.

Eight Months and Four Cribs!

First of all Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We hope you had a wonderful holiday and stuffed yourself with great food. We were able to enjoy time with both of our families, however we did put both of our families to work (besides feeding and changing diapers). My parents were the movers and Trevor parents along with Taylor were the painters. More details to come …

Twelve days ago the babies celebrated their 8 month birthday. They continue to do amazingly well. Nobody is officially crawling yet, but Oliver and Micah are great at the army crawl, Seth looks like a swimmer when he tries to get around (swimming on dry land doesn’t look very easy!) and Addilyn just rolls every where she wants to go. They have all started eating cereal, squash, and green beans. So far we are only feeding two babies at a time and we are really enjoying our new feeding schedule; Oatmeal at 7:30am, bottle at 9:30am, nap by 10, wake about 12pm, bottle at 1:00pm, nap at 2:00pm, wake about 3:30 – 4, rice cereal and vegetables at 4:30 – 5:00pm, bottle about 7:00pm, in bed for the night at 8pm. We still have to get to help them with their nuks, but it is getting better.

We finally have the babies in their own cribs. A while back Big Brother Taylor decided he would be willing to give up his big room downstairs, so the babies could have their own cribs. He was able to pick out his own paint for his room (originally he wanted red walls and a green ceiling) After some persuasion and compromise Taylor picked yellow and and red racing stripe for his new room. He will also be getting bunk beds in two weeks. We will add pictures of his room when the bunk beds arrive and we have everything put back together. Right now Taylor’s room is in our living room, so we will be glad to get him settled in his new big boy room!

Checking out their new single cribs. They seem to be sleeping well by themselves, thank goodness.

Trick or Treat!

Hello again everyone! I can’t believe it has been a month since I have posted a blog. Everything is going really well here. The babies are now seven months and continue to do well. We don’t have anyone crawling yet, but Micah and Oliver are so close. Oliver is great at doing the Army crawl and Micah loves to get on his hands and knees and rock back and forth or straighten his legs and stand on his head. All of them have figured out some way to roll or scoot to get anything in the room that they set their eyes on. It is getting difficult to leave them alone on the floor as they are rolling into and over each other while pulling ears, hair, and scratching. It can be quite funny to watch, but I am sure it will only get more crazy. Micah loves to steal nuks from anyone he can, even it he already has one or two in his possession. We now call him Mischievous Micah.

We had a great Halloween with our friends. Everyone got dressed up and we even took the babies around the neighborhood being it was a beautiful night.

Taylor is doing amazing. He loves to interact with the babies. This morning Addilyn, Seth, and Micah woke up first so we brought them down to feed. Trevor and I were in the middle of feeding when Oliver woke up. Taylor said he would go check on him. When we went up to get Oliver we found Taylor had unswaddled Oliver, brought the stool next to the crib and was standing on the stool reading a book to Oliver. What a wonderful big brother! Taylor is also learning so many new things a preschool. Just the other evening we were sitting at the dinner table and Taylor recited the entire Pledge of Allegiance to us. We had no clue he had been learning that. He is a very fast learner and we are very proud parents.

Here are some pictures from the last month. Enjoy and thanks again for following this journey with us.

We have had a wonderful fall to play outside. Taylor’s favorite thing this year was to ride his bike down our hill into the leaves rather than jump into them.
