The Little Things II

On this last night in November I wanted to share with you a few more of the little things we are thankful for here at the Daucsavage.

Of course, we are always thankful for these five beautiful, crazy, loud kids. Can you hear them screaming at you?

My sister and Nede finally being granted a visa for Nede on Thursday, so they can come home for Christmas and finally meet ASOM! We can’t wait to see them on Tuesday at the airport. In case you don’t know my sisters story check out her blog at www.thereforego.blogspot.com

Taylor’s letter to the consular at the US Embassy in Mozambique. Nede believes this letter is the reason she was granted a visa. The translation of the letter is: I wish for Auntie and Nede to come to America because the Daucsavage’s miss Auntie and Nede. Love, Taylor

We hope your November was as thankful as ours. May December bring you tons of JOY everyday!

The Little Things

Lately I have been thinking a lot about all of the little things we have been doing and how they mean so much to me or someone in our family. Being it is the season of Thanksgiving I wanted to share with you some of the things we are thankful for and I didn’t get a chance to post in the past month or so.

1.  IMG_1074

Taking ASOM to an Early Child Family Education Class once a week is a great escape from being stuck at home all the time!

2.  IMG_1065IMG_1067IMG_1068

Cooking with Taylor! It helps all of the kids to eat better! Here Taylor made “Better Than The Box” Macaroni and Cheese. As you can see from the last picture, it was a hit with all of us, not a noodle left!

3.  IMG_1128

Wearing a “Princess” dress with tennis shoes, just because.

4.  IMG_1119

Fall Bike rides with the entire family. We live in such a great area to have the bike path just down the road from us. We are looking forward to using it more next summer.

5.  IMG_1151

Parachutes with leaves, who doesn’t love that?

6.  IMG_1158IMG_1159IMG_1162

Open Gym on Fridays, YES! A great way to run off some energy when we are stuck in the house more.

7. IMG_1182

A garage to park the Suburban in! We finally cleaned and rearranged everything so the Suburban would fit. Our garage is big enough for a Suburban, one Quad stroller, and a child size John Deere Gator. I never knew how much I would love being able to park a car in the garage, but it sure makes it easier for me.

8.  IMG_1191

A moment of peace! Even if it means all five of my kids are watching TV.

9.  IMG_1195

ASOM have their own backpacks now! They love them and look so grown up.

10.  halloween 2012 013

Movie night and popcorn! This is the first night of popcorn for ASOM. Seth loved it and finished every bowl he could.

11. IMG_0017

Addilyn wearing a poncho I had when I was little and she wanted me to wear the one I made for myself a few years ago. The days of mother/daughter matching clothes will end all to soon, so I will take it when I can get it.

12.  IMG_1221 IMG_1222

Home Depot Kids Workshops! This is the 21st project in a row Taylor has completed. We aren’t brave enough to let ASOM handle hammers yet, with only Trevor and me to help them, but they will get their turn one day. And they are just happy to get out of the house and watch big brother.

13.  IMG_1102

An amazing six-year-old who brought a class list home a few weeks ago and now pulls that out every night to pray for each one of his classmates.

We have a lot to be thankful for; especially our family, friends, and blog followers. Thanks!

Drive in Movie

Hi, my name is Disa and I am a pinterest addict. I am sure Trevor would completely agree with that statement! If I have a good, new, or creative idea now days, Trevor’s first question is, “did you get this off pinterest?” To which I will most likely admit, yes! Today was no different, but it turned out so cute, I wanted to share it even if the idea wasn’t’ mine completely.

I saw this idea on pinterest a long time ago and have been waiting for the right time to make our own drive in movie cars and today was the day. Taylor had the day off of school for conferences, so while the little ones were napping we set to work making our cars.

We have plenty of diaper boxes which I wrapped in paper and Taylor was in charge of gluing the  wheels and steering wheels on each car. It kept us busy the entire naptime and as you can see in the background, Micah woke up before we were finished.
