Four New Swimmers

Our neighbors and friends have a swimming pool and invited us down for a swim today. Being Trevor was golfing and I didn’t have anything better to do, I thought why not bring five kids swimming! It might be a little crazy, but Brenda and I can make it work, and we did. I was able to take two babies swimming at a time and the other two sat in the stroller watching and being Taylor is a swimmer now, he was happy to get in the pool himself. Addilyn and Seth are natural fish! They loved the water! I was even able to let them go and they loved floating by themselves. Oliver and Micah on the other had would not let go of me. Even though it was a lot of work we had tons of fun! We can’t wait to go back. Thanks so much for inviting us Rick and Brenda!

Taylorism III

I am trying to write things down more, so I will remember all of the fun things the kids are doing now, so I figured I might as well get them on the blog, so I will always have them when I want them and you can enjoy them as well.

Today Taylor passed Level 1 Swimming Lessons today. We are all so proud. On the way home he called Maama (Trevor’s Mom), Papa (Trevor’s Dad), Meme (My Mom), and Brampa (My Dad). He was able to talk to Maama and Papa, but just leave messages with Meme and Brampa. At supper tonight Taylor was telling Trevor that he called all of his grandparents. He then goes on to say, “I don’t get it, why didn’t Meme and Brampa answer their phones when they are supposed to be retired from working?” Trevor then asked Taylor what he thought Meme and Brampa were doing. Without even pausing to think about the answer Taylor responds, “Brampa was probably playing tennis all day and Meme was probably busy making dough for cookies or bread.” If you know my parents, he really hit the nail on the head!

Robin Update

When we finally checked the robin nest last Tuesday, three of the eggs hatched. Wednesday the fourth egg hatched. Here is how the babies looked on Friday and Sunday. It is amazing how they can change in just a few days.

Swimming Lessons

Taylor started swimming lessons last week. He is doing great, but still very hesitant to do bobs in the water. He has, however; jumped off the diving board three days in a row. We can’t really figure out how that works, but at least he is getting a little more comfortable in the water. We just wanted to share some of the proof of Taylor’s swimming. Enjoy!

One week of lessons left. Hopefully he will get his hair completely wet doing bobs sometime this week.

Garage Sale!

I am having a garage sale this weekend. We are getting rid of all the things the babies have outgrown: Clothes NB – 12 months, swings, infant car seats, bouncy seats, exersaucer, Baby Einstein Jumper, Avent bottles, and tons more! If you are in need of anything or know someone else who needs something, please send them our way. The garage sale will be Friday and Saturday, June 17 – 18 from 8 – 4. I have two other friends who will be bringing their garage sale items over as well, so please some check it out!

T-Ball

For once the babies were finally sleeping past 6 o’clock this morning, but not Taylor. Taylor was up right at 6, “Mom, it’s morning, get up, the people are already getting to the baseball field.” (T-ball doesn’t start until 9). After taking care of the babies, eating a really good, big breakfast, and waiting not so patiently for our helpers to arrive this morning at 8:30, we were able to head to t-ball. Our neighbors, and several preschool friends were also on the t-ball team. I was so impressed with the coaches (high school and college guys) were really teaching good fundamentals of throwing and catching. It is going to be a very positive experience for Taylor, I can tell.

When we got home Taylor said, “I thought it was going to be a big place where people come to watch me, like the Twins.” Smile

Yesterday and today have been so hot here, so Taylor was running through the sprinkler to stay cool yesterday. With his snorkel as a gun and a flipper as a shield he was ready to fight the sprinkler full force!

Summer Fun!

We have finally been able to enjoy some time outside and we have some pictures to prove it.

Micah and Seth got their first experience with grass on Sunday. They did not really enjoy this at all. They sat in the grass or on my lap with their hands in the air the entire time.

Our first bonfire of the year was enjoyed Estela and Amaya. It was a perfect night to spend outside!

“Get us out of here”

One afternoon when Taylor and I were checking out our Robins the babies were on the inside watching us. I thought this picture was too cute. They love to be outside, but not on the grass.

Happy Summer everyone!

Robins

For the third year in a row we have had a family of Robins building a nest in our hanging basket on the front porch. I am beginning to wonder if it is the same bird or at least the off spring. I discovered the nest last Saturday. In my past experiences with our family of robins they have not ever killed the plants in my hanging basket and they have not made a mess of our porch, so they get to stay another year! I am also very surprised the birds don’t mind all of people coming in and out of our house during the day.

This is a great science lesson for Taylor and his friends too. One thing we have learned from our robin family is that they lay one egg a day for four days. See the pictures below.

Walker Number 3!

Addilyn started walking last Friday! She absolutely loves her new form of transportation. She grins from ear to ear and giggles like crazy as she moves around the room now.
