Party Time!

 

We had our family party today and had a great time. The babies did an awesome job even with their routine being off. One of my friends gave me the idea to make individual cakes for the babies. I baked eight mini cakes in tuna cans, then layered two of them to decorate. That way we were able to sing to each baby and then give them their OWN cake to enjoy. Surprisingly the mess wasn’t that bad.

Addilyn ended up the messiest. She picked up her cake and began squeezing it in her hands. She had a blast!

Seth (our big eater) was not so excited about the cake. He obviously does not have a sweet tooth. (He is definitely Trevor’s son.)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

 

Ok, so I am not Irish, but Trevor’s Mom’s maiden name is McDermott, so there is some Irish blood in our family. I couldn’t miss the opportunity to celebrate again, and so we did. I made Corned Beef Brisket, Cabbage, Potatoes, and a Green Cake for dessert! The babies didn’t really get in on this celebration, but they were dressed for the party. We hope you enjoyed the day and were able to celebrate the day even if you are not Irish.

Taylor had to add the hat to the picture. I think it really brings out his Irish blood!

I had to include both of these pictures only because I wanted you to see the new face Addilyn likes to make in the right picture. I am sure she wouldn’t want me to just post that funny picture, so I included the one on the left too.

I wanted to get a picture of all five kids together, but it is impossible to do such a thing with movers like Micah and Oliver. Taylor can only hold one for so long and the others are crawling away before I get the last one rounded up. Hopefully one day they will sit still for a picture!

Celebration!

 

Today was a typical day at our house. Up at 7, breakfast at 8, play until 9:30, bottles, nap, up again about 11:30, lunch at noon, play until 1:30, bottles, nap, up about 4, play, supper about 4:45 and when daddy came home, it was time to celebrate! We didn’t celebrate too big being we are having a party with our family on Saturday.

Being they were all a mess, we decided to give them all baths at the same time. This was the first time we have ever given all four of them a bath at the same time. They did pretty well, Addlyn loved it and Oliver wasn’t too sure about it. We certainly won’t be giving them baths together very often, but it was fun to do on their first birthday.

As you can see it was a fun and busy day. We are sure this is just the beginning of busy in our lives, but everyday has been a wonderful blessing despite the lack of sleep. Good night everyone! We hope you enjoyed the pictures. Hopefully I will have another post again soon.

One year ago today Taylor Lee became a big brother of four. He is the best big brother in the world! We are truly a very blessed family.

Thank you everyone for following our first year. It has been a wonderful, tiring, challenging, exciting, and surprising journey! We can’t wait to see what the next year brings. We will add more photos of the day soon.

Poor Oliver

Lately when we have been feeding the babies they have been much more content and willing to play while they wait. There are times though when we will both be feeding a baby and at least one more is crying. While we are trying to calmly tell them they are next to be fed and we will be with them soon, we feel like we are an automated phone system saying, “We are currently experiencing high cry volume. Your cry is very important to us. We will answer your cry in the order in which it was received. Thank you for you patience.”

On Wednesday, February 23 we took a trip to Grand Forks to surprise Trevor’s mom for her 60th birthday. Trevor’s brother, his fiancé, and their twins were also able to join us. This was the first time all thirteen of us have been together since September. Needless to say, it was a house full, but it was great to be all together. We were able to see both Great Grandmas and three Great Aunts and one Great Uncle along with a few friends. Unfortunately, while we were there we came down with the stomach flu. Finally by Friday of this past week, all seven of us are feeling well again. I certainly could do without that illness for the next 100 years or MORE! I think that is all I need to say about that.

A little more info. about the kids…Addilyn has cut one tooth on the top now, making it three teeth for her. It appears she is cutting her other top front tooth tonight as well. Oliver has three teeth and Seth and Micah are still toothless. Oliver and Micah are on the verge of walking by themselves, but not quite. I think I should start taking bets on what day they will be walking. Oliver and Micah can also climb the stairs now, yikes! Thank goodness for gates. Seth has finally started pulling himself up on things, but once he gets himself up, he has no idea how to get down. Then he starts screaming (it is quite cute to see). Seth is also our verbal one, he has now started waving to everyone and saying bye-bye.

Daddy, is God a Sioux fan?

 

A few weeks ago Trevor and Taylor were riding in the car and talking about watching Sioux hockey that night when they got home. Taylor paused for a minute and then proceeded to ask Trevor if God was a Sioux fan? I am not sure what Trevor then responded, but we certainly would like to think so.
